The Hawthorn Rowing Club held its inaugural meet on Saturday, June 14th at The Maritime Rowing Club in Norwalk with 11 young rowers. A big thank you to Mr. Stack for organizing.

This initial program consists of three, two-hour sessions on Saturdays. After the initial land-based orientation and the rowing machine last Saturday, the team will get out on the water in a “barge” this week, and then eventually to an “eight” for the final weekend.  

Following this initial program, we are planning to partner with Maritime to do an indoor orientation at the school in the Fall using rowing machines, and launch a full program in the Spring with separate middle school and elementary school boats. Keep an eye out here for more details!
