Students enjoyed celebrating the Feast of All Saints Day. After morning mass, the entire school gathered to pray the Rosary, offering prayers for the intentions of our school community. Students then enjoyed field day games and pizza lunch before the singing and poetry competition.
For the poetry competition, prizes were awarded to Cam Mercado (Kindergarten) for reciting, “Sing a Song of Sixpence”, Jacob Macalintal for “Rebecca, Who Slammed Doors for Fun and Perished Miserably” by Hiliare Belloc, William Harkins for “The Taking of Teach the Pirate” by Benjamin Franklin, and Reagan Choi and Elisabeth Hutter for their collaboration in reciting “Home Burial” by Robert Frost. For the first time, two faculty members also shared a poem with the school. Thank you to Mrs. Schneider and Mr. Edelson for their eloquence!
In the singing competition, prizes were awarded to: Ms. Shimansky’s 1st Grade Class for “When Johnny Comes Marching Home”, Ms. Zottoli’s 2nd Grade Girls for the “Preamble to the Constitution”, and Mrs. Andino’s Middle School Girls for the “Star Spangled Banner.”
For the Art Competition, students were asked to draw a Saint of their choice. Prizes were awarded to John Andino (Kindergarten), Helena Ebert (Grade 7), and Gregory Harkins (Grade 7). Images of their work may be found here.
