On Tuesday, February 28th,  we had our very first snow day! Hawthorn students enjoyed a day at home riding their sleds, building snowmen, and having snowball fights. When school resumed on Wednesday, there was plenty of snow on the school grounds for frosty fun at recess and after school. Our students threw snowballs with gusto and enjoyed displaying their creative talents in building snowmen and vying to see who could roll the most gigantic snow boulder. One budding engineer even brought in a plastic mold to fashion snow bricks for his own igloo.
