On Thursday, April 11, Hawthorn parent, Dr. Paul Mignone and his father, Dr. Paul Mignone, led 6-8th graders in a dissection of a cow's eye. Students observed the surgeons dissect a cow's eye in front of them, and they were able to study the structure of the eye. Students then handled the eyes themselves, as the doctors helped students perform their own dissections. The hands-on experience with the eyes led by experienced eye surgeons made for a most memorable science class!
